What’s the Fuss About Aquatic Invasive Species in the Adirondacks?!?

Why do we have all these people wearing blue vests and inspecting boats? Why do we hear about invasive milfoils and round gobies in the news? How can we prevent and manage aquatic invasive species. Join Brian Greene, Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator from the Nature Conservancy's Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program, to learn about invasive species and what you can do to prevent them from causing harm.

All lectures begin at 7pm at the Adirondack Interpretive Center and are free thanks to the support of the Adirondack Park Institute.

Early Avian Migrants Birding Walk

Wednesday, May 15th – 1pm

Join local birder, Charlotte Demers, to look for our early arriving avian migrants. Depending on trail conditions we will either walk along Rich Lake Marsh on the private Huntington Wildlife Forest or explore the trails at the AIC to see which resident and migrant birds are in the area. Walk is an easy ramble of about 1.5 miles and will be great for beginning birders. We will meet at 1:00 pm at the AIC.   • Charitable Cause: As part of the Holiday Train's annual mission, we are collecting non-perishable food items for local food shelves. Don't forget to bring a canned good to contribute to the local food shelf and support those in need during the holiday season.
