Make a splash!

Travel to nearby Indian Lake to journey down the Hudson River — considered one of the best whitewater rafting trips in the United States. With 17 miles of class-III thrills and scenic views, it's a great adventure to take with friends and family. In the spring the water is usually raging and the trip is fast and exhilarating. A summer trip is recommended if you have a youngster along for the ride; it's slower with a few great thrills, chances for swimming and floating, and even some rock jumping! In the fall, rafters enjoy fiery foliage as they paddle through the rapids.

Leave No Trace and Love Your ADK

The magic of the Adirondacks is the result of previous generations taking a long view and protecting the mountains, lakes, and rivers within the Blue Line. That tradition continues today as we support and encourage everyone to practice Leave No Trace ethics, which help protect the lands and waters of the Adirondacks.
