Memory Tree Lighting in Newcomb

Come share in the light, remembrance, and warmth of the season.

Join us for a heartfelt evening as we light the Memory Tree at Overlook Park — a beautiful tradition honoring loved ones we hold dear. Each light on the tree represents someone special, creating a glowing tribute that brings our community together during the holiday season.

You can add a loved one’s name in one of two ways:

  • Fill out a form at Town Hall, or

  • Send a check and names to:

$1 per name — all proceeds benefit The Newcomb Helpers.

Veteran's Day Assembly

Join the Schroon Lake Central School's Veteran's Day Assembly to honor our hometown heroes. Veterans are welcome to arrive at 1:30pm for light refreshments in the staff room and community members can attended at 1:45pm through the main entrance.

Bud, Bark and Needle: Winter Tree Identification for Beginners

Increase the enjoyment of your upcoming winter snowshoe walks and cross-country ski adventures by learning to identify some of the region's trees using twig, bark, and bud characteristics.

Join Guide Charlotte Demers on a one-mile walk to the Santanoni Farm, where we will cover basic terminology used in tree identification and discuss the natural history of the species we identify. Return to the parking lot at your own pace. Please bring suitable clothing, footwear and water for a 2-mile round trip hike. Meet at the upper parking lot at 1 p.m.
