At Motel Long Lake and Cottages, you can choose between our updated mid-century motel - eight bright, comfortable rooms with a touch of retro charm - or one of 20 individual lakeside cottages, from one-bedroom hideaways to larger lodges perfect for families.

Set directly on the shores of Long Lake NY, our property offers an authentic Adirondack experience in every season. On summer mornings, you can stroll down to the dock, pick up a complimentary canoe or rent our pontoon boat and spend the day exploring the lake’s quiet coves. Evenings bring loons calling across the water and campfires under the stars.

We welcome pets in select cottages, because for many guests, adventures in the Adirondacks aren’t complete without four-legged friends. And for those who like to linger longer, our monthly and extended stay options make it easy to settle in for a season - whether you’re working remotely, taking a creative break, or simply enjoying small-town life at your own pace.

In winter, nine of our cottages stay open, offering a cozy base for snowy walks, local celebrations, and the kind of peaceful stillness that defines the Adirondacks at this time of year. Our winter cabins all have fireplaces, perfect for thawing out after a day outside.

Proudly owned and operated by the Stryszowski family since 2008, Motel Long Lake has grown and evolved with care - always keeping the relaxed, friendly atmosphere that makes guests feel part of our community.

The Chateau on Dock Street

Gather together to enjoy the subtle opulence of this historic family camp.

Perched on a knoll overlooking Schroon Lake, this iconic home with separate attached apartment offers panoramic lake views from every room and the wrap-around deck.  Built by some of the first settlers of the town of Schroon Lake, you will be enveloped by the charm of original doors, knobs, hardware and open feel of the space complimented with the comforts of modern day.  The space is curated with ease and comfort in mind, so you will find all the auxiliary supplies in the well appointed kitchen - just a quick stop at the local grocer is all you'll need before arrival.

 

Special in all seasons

Enjoy the wonderful sandy public beach complete with lifeguard and adirondack style sun chairs, swimming in sparkling clean water, boating, fishing and sitting by the fire pit under the stars. You have a front row seat for the summer concerts in the park right from the veranda.  Boat rentals are available through the Schroon Lake Marina, only half a mile up the road.

Fabulous fall foliage rings the lake and home, putting on a stunning show every Autumn.

Winter brings ice fishing, ice skating on the lake or in town where even borrowed skates are no charge, snowy walks on the majestic frozen lake, skiing, or snowmobiling. The town golf course has the perfect beginner's slope for novice skiers or sledding.

But, you don’t need to leave the house to enjoy this spectacular location! Relax by the fireplace or head for the game room for billiards, foosball, and boardgames; watch a movie and make yourself a drink at the bar or dive into a good book up in the library.

 

Steps away from the front door is the center of town, offering everything you need for your Adirondack vacation. There is easy access to skiing, hiking, golfing, tennis, snowmobiling, boating and so much more. Or, you can just relax at home and enjoy the view!

 

Events and Gatherings

With space to bring the whole family, this home is the perfect place to gather and make memories that last a lifetime.  From grand Thanksgiving dinners at the 12 seat dining table, to Christmas festivities in the great room by the fire, or micro-weddings at the iconic Schroon Lake Cupola across the street followed up by a luxurious reception in the screened dining space overlooking the gleaming waters of Schroon Lake and the surrounding mountains.  There is even a grand piano on site for romantic music to accompany any event.  To add ample relaxation, ask about coordinating catering with a local business when booking your stay!
