Minerva Lake is a great place to enjoy ice skating. It is free and is a perfect spot to introduce your kids to the sport. In addition to skating on Minerva Lake, the recreation area features an outdoor skating rink. Adjacent to the skating rink is a warming hut.

How to get there

The rink hill is located at Libern H. Yandon Recreational Park, which is across the street from Overlook Park in Newcomb. The rink itself is next to the Town's sledding hill and warming house.

Ice skating

The rink is open all the time: days, nights, weekdays, and weekends. It is outdoors, not under a pavilion; please be sure to plan ahead.

How to get there

The ice rink is located on Leland Avenue, behind the tennis courts and across the road from the Town Beach. There is public parking.

Ice skating

The rink is open all the time: days, nights, weekdays, and weekends. It is located in a pavilion. There are lights for evening skating. Since ice is weather dependent, the rink may open and close if conditions don't allow for safe skating. Please check with the Town of Schroon Chamber of Commerce or visit the rink's website before visiting to ensure you'll be able to get on the ice.
