Locals Invited to Participate in Award Winning Cycling Tour

SARANAC LAKE — Cycle Adirondacks, an award winning road cycling tour, begins on August 19 as hundreds of cyclists from over 30 states and provinces arrive in Schroon Lake to begin the annual weeklong event.

Created in 2015 by the Wildlife Conservation Society Adirondack Program, the 2017 event will feature two overnight stops in the communities of Schroon Lake (Aug. 19-21), Keene Valley (Aug. 21-23) and Saranac Lake (Aug. 23-25). The ride will also touch more than 20 other Adirondack communities along the 2017 route. Among them are North Creek, Brant Lake, Westport, Elizabethtown, Jay, Lake Placid, Tupper Lake, Wilmington, Ausable Forks, Keene and North Hudson.

An event highlight is free nightly community entertainment and since the event will operate out-and-back routes on three of the tour days, Cycle Adirondacks is also inviting locals to come out and ride as Day Trippers on Aug. 20, 22 or 24. Local cyclists interested in the Day Tripper option need to sign up in advance at CycleAdirondacks.com. Registration includes an event t-shirt and a catered lunch.
