Hiker shuttles

Parking at trailheads can be very limited. Use one of the designated hiker shuttles and make your adventure stress free!

Town of Keene Hiker Shuttle: The Town of Keene shuttle transports hikers from Marcy Field to The Garden Parking Lot on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Some of the hikes accessible from this shuttle are:

Essex County Route 73 Shuttle (Marcy Loop): The shuttle route will run along Route 73, starting at Marcy Field and ending at the Giant Mountain Ridge Trail, and then turning around. The shuttle runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Download map and schedule.

Some of the hikes accessible from this shuttle are:

Frontier Town Hiker Shuttle (Multi-Day Hiking Trip): New for the summer of 2022, hikers can enjoy a multi-day hiking trip via the Frontier Town Gateway Shuttle. The bus will depart from the Frontier Town Gateway in North Hudson on Monday at 2:00 p.m. and transport hikers to the ADK Loj Parking lot (approx. 2:45 p.m. arrival). Pick-up from this shuttle will be at the Tahawus Upper Works Trailhead Parking in Newcomb on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday where it will return you to your starting location at the Frontier Town Gateway. For the 2022 hiking season, the shuttle will depart from North Hudson on August 8 & August 15 and advance registration is required.

The shuttles are free to ride. Per the New York State Department of Health's direction, riders on public transportation are required to wear a mask, including vaccinated individuals. Riders are expected to provide their own masks. Pets are not allowed on the shuttle; certified service animals are permitted.
