War Cannon Spirits

Revolutionary history. Rebellious Spirits.

War Cannon Spirits is situated amidst the historic allure of two 18th century forts, nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Champlain. These forts, intricately intertwined with both regional and national history, serve as a constant source of inspiration. It is within this backdrop of rich heritage and breathtaking natural beauty that War Cannon Spirits was born. Our vision encompasses not only the creation of exceptional spirits but also the remarkable restoration of a landmark venue. Through our passionate endeavors, we are driven to capture the true essence of New York and the Adirondack North Country, striving to showcase the unparalleled treasures they hold to all who step foot within our doors.

Our Tasting Room Was Built In 1820. It was used as a mill when Putnam Creek was dammed and a pond existed behind the site. There were many alterations and additions over the last 200 years, yet the core still remains one of the oldest structures of its kind.

We also offer a casual, yet elevated pub style menu to seamlessly complement our spirits and cocktails, as well as a coffeehouse, retail bottle room, event space and catering.

Flanagan's Pub & Grill

Places like Flanagan's occupy a special place in small communities. It is primarily a social gathering spot – part tavern, part lunch counter, with “family” dining room out front. It is the “Cheers” of Schroon Lake, where everybody knows your name. Every year something gets added or upgraded. New bar stools last winter. A new moose head and lighting the year before. Some new booths for the dining room. New high-tops for the Friday night pre-movie pizza and chicken wing crowd. Like many establishments that were primarily taverns twenty years ago, Flanagan's now serves more food than liquor. They have to because the tavern business is history. The dining room now caters to families and vacationers looking for a reasonably priced meal in a casual atmosphere – a cup of homemade soup, fried chicken or fish, calamari, hamburgers and sandwiches, and surprisingly good pizza!

Flanagan's also serves as the unofficial club house for the snowmobile crowd in winter, and the boating crowd in the summer. Snowmobiles can access the pub from the lake most years after the ice sets in January. In summer the boating crowd has a block to walk from the town docks to get to a cold beer. Flanagan's used to be primarily a beer only crowd, but over the years, other beverage options have been added. Stop in and give a cheery "hello!" to the friendly staff. And be sure to try their famous wings!
